What you need
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related field
- 3–5 years of EHS experience, preferably in a clinical laboratory, biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR 1910 Subparts H, I, J, Z), Cal/OSHA Title 8, and California hazardous waste regulations (DTSC/CalRecycle)
- Familiarity with CAP accreditation standards and CLIA safety requirements in a laboratory setting
- Demonstrated experience conducting safety inspections, writing inspection reports, and driving corrective actions to closure
- Experience managing hazardous and biological waste programs, including vendor coordination and manifest documentation
Nice to have
- Experience with NYSDOH Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP) requirements
- Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager)
- Experience using an electronic QMS for document control and CAPA management
- Experience with CERS (California Environmental Reporting System) and HMBP filings
- RCRA/DOT/IATA hazardous materials shipping training
