About the role

Occupational Therapist - PRN

Who we are looking for:

An experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) who is enthusiastic about providing functional rehabilitation in real-life settings such as home, school, work, and the community. You are ready to treat clients beyond a clinical environment, focusing on practical experiences like cooking, navigating grocery stores, dining out, participating in outdoor activities, and engaging in the workplace. Responsibilities:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will:

Perform evaluations and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
Regularly re-assess the effectiveness of treatment plans, participate in staffing meetings, and attend family conferences.
Conduct discharge evaluations, make appropriate recommendations for home and community safety, and provide referral and educational resources.
Communicate patient needs and progress effectively to the treatment team, physician, person receiving services, and family members.
Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure coordinated care and enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

What you will need:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current, unrestricted license as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
Current CPR Certification.
A minimum of one year’s work experience as an Occupational Therapist.
Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological diagnoses is preferred.
Effective and professional communication skills in both verbal and written interactions.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to move, lift, or transfer patients, potentially up to 100 pounds, following safety procedures.
Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/standing for extended periods.
Additional physical requirements include frequent pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning.
A health screen or examination may be required to verify physical capability for assigned duties.
