Occupational Therapist - PRN

Who we are looking for:

An experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) who is enthusiastic about providing functional rehabilitation in real-life settings such as home, school, work, and the community. You are ready to treat clients beyond a clinical environment, focusing on practical experiences like cooking, navigating grocery stores, dining out, participating in outdoor activities, and engaging in the workplace. Responsibilities:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Perform evaluations and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Regularly re-assess the effectiveness of treatment plans, participate in staffing meetings, and attend family conferences.
  • Conduct discharge evaluations, make appropriate recommendations for home and community safety, and provide referral and educational resources.
  • Communicate patient needs and progress effectively to the treatment team, physician, person receiving services, and family members.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure coordinated care and enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

What you will need:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current, unrestricted license as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • A minimum of one year’s work experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological diagnoses is preferred.
  • Effective and professional communication skills in both verbal and written interactions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move, lift, or transfer patients, potentially up to 100 pounds, following safety procedures.
  • Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/standing for extended periods.
  • Additional physical requirements include frequent pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning.
  • A health screen or examination may be required to verify physical capability for assigned duties.
