Junior Sales Manager
The Junior Sales Manager is instrumental in advancing strategic sales and experiential event initiatives across the Collared Martin Hospitality and Faraway brand portfolios. Integrated within the corporate sales structure, this individual assists in driving topline performance for all properties by supporting the execution of targeted sales strategies, proactively capturing new business opportunities, and nurturing enduring client relationships. Collaborating closely with the Sales and Events team, the Junior Sales Manager ensures seamless coordination between clients and property-level operations. This role is vital in supporting revenue growth, elevating guest experiences, and reinforcing a strong brand presence across the portfolio. Primary Responsibilities
Sales Execution & Business Development
- Proactively capture new group, corporate, wedding, and event business while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients.
- Support the execution of established sales and events strategies, ensuring delivery against topline revenue goals across the portfolio.
- Assist in prospecting, lead generation, site tours, proposal development, and contract follow-up.
- Drive conversion by targeting high-value segments including luxury leisure, weddings, corporate retreats, and special events.
- Secure and complete deposits, contracts, and related documentation in accordance with company policies and financial guidelines.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, account notes, and pipeline reporting within CRM and sales systems.
Team Collaboration & Alignment
- Participate in weekly Group Rooms & Catering (GRC) meetings to align sales, catering, and operations teams on active leads, booking pace, and conversion priorities.
- Collaborate closely with sales team members and property leaders to ensure consistent execution across all hotels.
- Reinforce a culture of storytelling, relationship-driven selling, and guest-first hospitality.
- Support portfolio-wide communication between corporate sales and on-property operations teams.
Event Execution & Client Handover
- Assist with the seamless transition of contracted group and event business to F&B leaders, banquet teams, and operational departments.
- Help coordinate introductions between clients, planners, travel advisors, and on-property teams to ensure a smooth planning experience.
- Support the successful execution of private gatherings, group programs, weddings, and luxury experiences across the portfolio.
- Participate in pre-planning calls, resume reviews, and operational meetings as needed to support event success.
Market Awareness & Partnerships
- Build and maintain relationships with luxury travel agencies, wedding planners, corporate clients, and local partners.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within boutique and lifestyle hospitality.
- Represent Collared Martin Hospitality and Faraway at networking events, trade shows, sales missions, and industry functions when appropriate.
Guest Experience Oversight
- Champion guest-first thinking across all sales and events efforts.
- Ensure all client and guest interactions reflect brand standards: warm, personalized, detail-oriented, and authentic.
- Assist in resolving client concerns or operational challenges with professionalism, urgency, and hospitality-focused problem solving.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years in hospitality sales, event planning, or catering management, preferably within luxury boutique environments.
- Education: Four-year college degree preferred, or 2 years of college combined with 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external vendors to support successful group and event execution.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills with confidence in presentations, proposals, and client interactions.
- Organization: Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail and follow-through.
- Negotiation & Sales Skills: Ability to support contract negotiations, proposal development, and sales conversion efforts.
- Problem Solving: Proactive and solutions-oriented approach to managing challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with hotel sales systems (CRM, Delphi, or PMS) preferred.
