Summary
The Director of Quality will lead MTA C&D Quality Management to ensure compliance with quality processes and requirements by implementing and continuously improving a robust quality management system.
Responsibilities
- Establishes internal processes and systems for a Quality Management System from the top down at the Corporate Quality level.
- Establishes quality documentation (i.e., procedures, standards, specifications, and associated governance) system to ensure adequate dissemination, awareness, and compliance with MTA C&D processes and requirements.
- Oversees quality reviews of internal and external activities and processes to ensure compliance with C&D’s Quality Management System.
- Works with C&D Management to identify and develop requirements and processes to support the successful execution of the MTA C&D capital program.
- Works with MTA C&D Business Units and Contracts management to identify and establish quality requirements for external consultants/contractors/suppliers.
- Oversees activities to ensure the ongoing continuation of the MTA C&D ISO 9001 registration.
- Works with C&D Business Unit personnel to identify and initiate improvements in C&D processes, requirements, and activities to ensure the successful execution of the MTA C&D Capital Program.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Transportation, or a related field.
- Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years in a management or supervisory role and/or project/quality manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Competencies
- Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect desirable.
- CQA/CQE or Exemplar Global Certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Quality Management Programs to meet established organizational goals and processes, including ISO 9001 Standard requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in project management for major construction projects or project controls with highly complex systems preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing contractors, subcontractors, or vendors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all internal organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high-profile, high-pressure environment effectively.
- Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Must be a proven leader as a change agent and creative/innovative thinker with the ability to align business goals with solutions to drive process improvements.
- Must possess excellent team-building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
