The Role: Junior Proposal Writer
The Junior Proposal Writer will be a key member of a growing business development team, working closely with senior management and construction teams. This role supports and leads RFP and RFQ responses by developing proposal content throughout the pursuit process, ensuring timely, high-quality submissions. Responsibilities include interviewing subject matter experts, compiling technical information, drafting proposal content, and producing visually compelling, CANA-branded layouts.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Work with the Director of Project Development and Proposal Manager to prepare, write, and edit proposal responses.
- Proofread and edit content from a variety of sources for accuracy and consistency.
- Layout content in InDesign.
- Translate technical ideas and subject-matter expertise into easy-to-understand language and craft compelling narratives.
- Gather and compile compliant and mandatory documentation as part of proposal submission package.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive internal library and database of project information, profiles, resumes, and references.
- Ensure proposals are compliant and high quality.
- Adaptability to take on new tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
What You Bring
- 1 – 3 Years of experience as a Technical, Proposal, or Content Writer considered an asset.
- University degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications.
- Excellent written communication skills, and demonstrated proof-reading ability.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and the Microsoft 360 suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with tight deadlines is critical.
- Construction, engineering, or design background an asset.
- Experience in proposal development.
