Boulder County Public Works Department is seeking to hire an Apprentice Electrician. This entry-level position involves performing a variety of unskilled and skilled electrical duties in the construction, remodel, and maintenance of buildings and facilities.

Position Details

This is a full-time, benefited position working Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, based at 2525 13th St., Boulder, Colorado. The role is non-exempt, eligible for overtime.

Examples of Duties

  • Perform routine electrical work on construction and remodel projects: installing conduit, electrical boxes, motors, receptacles, switches, light fixtures, and pulling cables.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems (security, fire alarm, energy management, card access, computer, telephone systems).
  • Conduct electrical demolition work, removing old wiring and equipment.
  • Respond to work orders for electrical repairs and installations.
  • Schedule work and estimate time and materials (may).
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain work records and material receipts.
  • Perform related work as required and may be reassigned in emergencies.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of electrical experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must reside in Colorado as of the first day of work.
