About the role
Business Analyst, US Prime
Are you ready to turn data into decisions that shape one of Amazon's most iconic programs?
The US Prime Finance team is looking for an analytically-driven Business Analyst who thrives at the intersection of data, storytelling, and strategy. A successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, highly analytical, comfortable with creating data-driven narratives, customer obsessed, and have a willingness to navigate ambiguity. They must be comfortable contributing to plans presented to senior leadership (SVP level) as well as having a high bar for data fidelity. Your analysis won't just inform decisions, it will drive them.
As a Business Analyst on the US Prime Finance team, you will own the analytical infrastructure that powers decision-making for Amazon's flagship membership program. You'll design and maintain reporting frameworks, surface actionable insights from complex datasets, and serve as a trusted analytical partner to cross-functional teams across US Prime, WW Prime, and Prime Benefits. Blending together financial and economic principles, a successful candidate requires an uncanny ability to work across stakeholder groups and evaluate tradeoffs between business-focused requirements and technical limitations and priorities.
Key job responsibilities
- Build and own reporting frameworks that track Prime membership performance, translating raw data into clear, executive-ready narratives for SVP-level audiences.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses using internal and external data sources to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities, synthesizing complex findings into concise, actionable takeaways.
- Develop KPI frameworks for ambiguous or unmeasured business challenges, establishing clear success metrics that enable teams to track progress and drive accountability.
- Design and maintain dashboards and automated reporting pipelines that reduce manual effort and increase the speed and reliability of business insights.
- Partner with cross-functional teams — including Retail Stores, WW Prime, and Prime Benefits (Prime Video, Prime Gaming, Shipping) — to align on measurement standards and ensure consistency in how program performance is evaluated.
- Lead automation initiatives for critical reporting processes, improving scalability and freeing capacity for higher-value analytical work.
