Assistant Project Manager Bootcamp
Aldridge Electric is seeking passionate individuals to join our Winter 2027 Assistant Project Manager Bootcamp! If you are driven by building great projects and exploring new locations, this program offers a structured pathway into our project lifecycle. This 15-week intensive program blends classroom instruction with on-the-job mentorship to equip new hires with essential skills and knowledge.
Program Structure
The 15-week bootcamp comprises 6 weeks of intensive classroom instruction, primarily held in Illinois at our Des Plaines office and Lake Forest headquarters, followed by 9 weeks of hands-on, on-the-job site experience across the United States. The typical rotation involves one week of classroom training followed by two weeks at your assigned job site, though variations may occur.
Job Purpose
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects by supporting project teams throughout the project lifecycle. Your role will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, all while upholding Aldridge’s Core Values and fostering a positive work environment.
What You’ll Do
- Promote safe job sites and collaborate with Safety personnel to address all safety concerns.
- Support Project Management with essential duties including cost and labor tracking, document control, material submittals, subcontractor management, contract compliance, schedule adherence, and project closeout.
- Assist Field Leadership with project planning, WBS creation meetings, material logistics, subcontractor coordination, customer communications, productivity tracking, and internal department coordination.
- Cultivate strong working relationships and promote effective teamwork among Aldridge and our partners.
- Adhere to established Aldridge processes and guidelines.
Who You Are
- Willing to travel extensively across the United States.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Management, or a related major, or equivalent construction or trade background.
- Internships or relevant work experience are preferred.
- Demonstrate an aptitude for anticipating problems, critical issues, and opportunities, with a creative problem-solving approach.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excel at time management and prioritization, consistently meeting deadlines.
- Be adaptable and willing to embrace new challenges.
