About the role
Job Summary
As a Construction Contracts Manager at Sundt Construction, you will be responsible for negotiating terms and conditions on contracts for construction procurement for awarded projects. Your role will have a heavy focus on developing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with subcontractors, vendors, services, and suppliers from start to finish on all agreement types. We are looking for a team player with an engineering and/or construction-related background, basic contracts review/development/negotiation experience, the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, and strong time management skills.Key Responsibilities
- Communicate via phone and/or email to resolve issues promptly.
- Analyze and understand prime and subcontract insurance certificates, ensuring appropriate coverage is provided before contract execution.
- Maintain a detailed and organized work ethic to facilitate reviews and ensure progress.
- Develop contracts using the lnEight system.
- Assist the legal department in negotiating agreement terms and conditions, and documenting any required changes or amendments.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of Sundt's agreements.
- Support procurement staff meetings and provide legal communication to the team.
- Draft subcontracts and purchase orders for construction projects.
- Leverage knowledge of unit price contracts and construction estimates/budgets.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others.
- Possess a four-year Engineering, Construction Management Degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or 5+ years of related experience.
- lnEight Software experience is highly encouraged.
- Past experience as an Engineer, Project Manager, or Estimator is desired but not required.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Organize and complete work within given deadlines during normal operating hours.
