Job Description: Staff Product Engineer
This role focuses on the New Product Introduction (NPI) of state-of-the-art GaN semiconductor devices and other engineering projects within our Device and Product Group. As an experienced semiconductor product engineer, you will own the new product lifecycle from concept to qualification, coordinating activities across R&D, Design, Epitaxial, Fabrication, Package Assembly, Test, and Reliability departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the NPI process for power device products, from definition and design to fabrication, testing, and qualification, managing the transition from tape-out to production release.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to develop comprehensive NPI plans.
- Negotiate schedules to ensure alignment with available resources and customer requirements.
- Track and communicate project status, key results, risks, and issues to all stakeholders to maintain alignment of priorities.
- Schedule and facilitate design review meetings.
- Monitor and analyze testing and qualification results, authoring engineering reports.
- Develop screening methods for qualification during the NPI phase.
- Drive root cause investigations for performance and qualification issues.
- Support other engineering projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, yield engineering, or power electronics.
- BS or MS in an engineering or science discipline.
- Experience with APQP design review processes, FMEA, NPI, and SPC.
- Understanding of process and product development, wafer-level processing, assembly, and test methods.
- Exceptional time management and teamwork skills.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Experience with discrete device testing and semiconductor packaging is a plus.
- Experience with engineering databases, automation, and statistical analysis using software like JMP is a plus.
