About the role
Assistant Controller - Tier 1 Automotive Supplier
Responsible for supporting the Plant Financial Controller in controlling all plant costs and internal controls, compiling the annual budgets / forecasts and ensuring that all plant statutory reporting requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- KPI Reports: Perform daily, weekly and Monthly KPI reports.
- Launch Costs: Control and report all plant launch costs. Work with the launch team to prepare the annual launch forecast.
- Forecasting: Support the Plant Controller during the monthly forecasting process for profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- P&L Responsibility: Assume full responsibility for specific P&L lines.
- Month-End Procedures: Prepare journals, analyze P&L and Balance Sheet during the 3-day close, and perform Balance Sheet reconciliation and respond to analytical queries.
- Corporate Reporting: Support and supervise the completion of the monthly direct margin report for the management information pack, including commentary. Assist the Plant Controller with other management reports.
- Balance Sheet Integrity: Ensure balance sheet integrity, including the Fixed Asset Register.
- Team Development: Ensure the development of Finance Assistant team members.
- Internal Controls: Support the Plant Controller in implementing and maintaining internal controls, including full SOX compliance.
- HSE: Ensure adherence to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Demonstrable Accounting experience in Manufacturing with standard costing systems.
- Confident with strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
- Hands-on approach, highly flexible, and adaptable.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- High standard of Excel skills is essential.
- Automotive experience is a plus.
- Understanding of IATF16949 / ISO9001.
- QAD ERP experience.
- Hyperion experience.
- Experience with SOX Internal Audit procedures.
