Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions, and best practices for leading organizations. A Senior Director identifies gaps, problems, and solutions within their market, using their knowledge to help clients make better decisions and execute practices that propel businesses toward critical objectives. They publish these insights as pragmatic and provocative research. Additionally, they reinforce Gartner’s value by engaging clients through various channels, including virtual and in-person meetings, sales support, conferences, and industry events. This involves writing about, presenting, and advising organizations on market trends, technologies, vendors, and best practices in analytics & AI.
What You Will Do
- Create high-quality, clear, actionable, “must-have research” content based on research best practices and methodologies in analytics, AI, and data science.
- Specific focus areas include strategy, business value, best practices, market trends, technologies, and vendors.
- Identify the root cause of client barriers or needs and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward.
- Cover specific Analytics & AI topics and adjacent areas while maintaining a broad market view, producing innovative, thought-leading, impactful, analytically-deep, fact-based research.
- Specific topics include Agentic analytics, Decision Intelligence, AI Engineering, Content Management, Analytics and BI, Data Science, and Machine Learning.
- Provide clients and prospects with actionable analytics & AI-centric advice via virtual or face-to-face interactions.
- Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, webinars, and client briefings.
- Provide high-quality and timely research peer review.
- Provide mentorship and support to team members.
- Predict market developments, assist clients in selection processes, and aid vendors in overall positioning.
- Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions, collaborating effectively with peers in the analytics & AI research community.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant Analytics & AI experience.
- Previous leadership or senior technical role experience within technology or business.
- Applicable experience in an industry discipline and deep knowledge of CDAO, Head of Analytics and AI responsibilities, or related business roles, including market and industry perspective.
- Understanding of technology and business needs, user strategies in specific areas and markets.
- Excellent written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
- Ability to work independently while being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support others' workflow in a multicultural global team.
- Demonstrated executive presence; ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
- Superior analytical skills, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns, and drawing/defending conclusions.
- Subject matter expertise comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements.
