Team Overview
In the Client Services and Operations division at Edward Jones, you’ll focus on creating the ideal client and branch experience. From account opening to trade settlement and movement of client cash and securities, to statement production and tax reporting, Operations is involved every step of the way. As the backbone of the branch, your work will support all client transactions and processing through the life cycle of the client relationship. Through strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration, you’ll continuously identify opportunities for operational efficiency and risk mitigation, supporting the firm in its key objectives.
As a member of the Client Fee Billing Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of the firm's fee billing functions, supporting both the U.S. and Canada. Primary responsibilities include the support of branch exception requests & review, weekly oversight and system controls reviews, and data analysis. In addition, these functions include the day to day oversight and verifications of the collections of fees for client accounts, and payments made to external asset managers.
What You'll Do
The Business Intelligence Analyst I will partner closely with product teams, leaders, and business areas across the firm to move automation and transformation strategies into execution, helping to design and enhance business processes with simplicity and transparency while creating capacity for our business areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with functional leaders to conceptualize and recommend client fee billing solutions for enabling firm policies and strategies.
- Partner with product teams and business areas in the design, development, and implementation of fee billing solutions
- Conduct analysis that facilitates the transformation of complex data/information into actionable insights. Includes advanced financial analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling responsibility
- Frequent verbal & written presentation of analysis, as well as presentation of firm strategic information and analytical insights to firm leaders
- Build strong firm-wide awareness and acumen of the impact of firm strategies and business activities on branch compensation programs through education and ongoing projects
- Participate in and frequently lead cross-functional teams responsible for implementing projects in support of divisional or firm-wide business objectives
- Champion the innovation and evolution of existing processes, controls, and technology in order to meet the changing needs and increasing complexity of the organization
- Proactively identify opportunities with moderate to broad impact and visibility, propose solutions to relevant parties and drive implementation of solutions
- Develop and manage business relationships with leaders and associates across the organization
- Maintain existing PowerBI, Pentaho, and Macro Key reports to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Maintain existing controls and oversight timely to meet regulatory and audit requirements
- Serve as security coordinator for the department to ensure appropriate access is controlled, monitored, and applied as appropriate
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in a business discipline such as accounting, finance, economics, data science or analytics (or relevant work experience).
- Financial analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling skills
- Candidates hired into this role will be required to obtain the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) and Series 99 licenses within 120 calendar days of hire and the Series 7 license within one year of hire.
- A proficiency using BI/visualization software including PowerBI & Pentaho
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required including working ability to utilize pivot tables, VBA, advanced charting, advanced formulas, conditional formatting.
- Ability to (or ability to learn to) manipulate large data sets with SQL, BI tools
- Basic understanding of accounting processes and financial statements
- Ability to independently and collaboratively manage multiple priorities, adapting quickly to changing demand
What Could Set You Apart
- Working understanding of agile product management
- A proficiency in using Business Intelligence and data extractions tools such as SQL or Power Query
- Experience with or knowledge of financial business processes with incentive compensation experience
- 4+ years of relevant work experience
- MBA or Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
Work Arrangement
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
