Legal Assistant

Zwicker & Associates, P.C. is a national creditor rights law firm specializing in ethics, compliance, and assertive legal representation. Founded in 1991, the firm represents creditors in consumer and commercial recovery and litigation efforts.

Position Overview

This position is for a Litigation Assistant who will provide on-site legal administrative support at the Garden City, New York office. The successful candidate will manage legal documents, process and analyze data, and assist with high-level legal administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and process data to ensure proper workflow.
  • Provide legal administrative support to attorneys and the Office Manager.
  • Update and document account statuses using internal software.
  • Prepare legal documentation for attorney review and file pleadings.
  • Answer incoming calls and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Comply with standard operating procedures and maintain quality and quantity of work.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a professional attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of civil litigation procedures, rules of evidence, and e-filing processes.
  • Previous legal or financial administrative experience.
  • Experience in debt collection or litigation is a plus.

Physical and Work Requirements

The role requires the ability to lift five pounds, sit for long periods, and perform basic physical tasks. A minimum 40-hour flexible workweek is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The base hourly rate is $21.00-$22.00. This is a full-time position offering a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, life insurance, long-term disability, compensated time off, paid holidays, and a 401K with match.
