What You Can Expect

The Associate Director, HRBP reports to and assists the HR Senior Director in serving as a global, strategic business partner to a client base of approximately 3,000 team members spread across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. These business leaders represent a variety of functions and client groups within global end-to-end supply chain, procurement, operations strategy, new product engineering, EHS, and others.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Drive strategic Human Resources Management activity across client organizations including coordination of talent development and succession planning activities and initiatives.
  • Support business leaders in organizational design and workforce development initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and championing team member engagement strategies and action plans. Lead and partner with ZB functions and centers of excellence to drive employee engagement and recognition programs.
  • Counsel and advise business leaders on policy and practice issues. Review and approve management decisions affecting employment.
  • Lead HR projects including project development, communications, meetings, tracking, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior HR and business leadership to plan and execute HR requirements and initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR best practices related to policies, procedures, and processes. Partner with key internal customers to develop capable HR systems and processes to support organizational needs and plans.
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate and address team member performance and behavior; administer meaningful development and succession planning processes; and ensure best compensation practices.
  • Address complex and sensitive employment-related inquiries and concerns from team members and leaders.
  • Assist business leaders and partner with ZB Compensation to review, analyze, and take action related to compensation.
  • Liaise with ZB Talent Acquisition (TA) in recruiting for assigned positions, both internal and external. Collaborate with managers to understand the skills and competencies required for positions. Partner with TA to determine job offers.
  • Assist business leaders by recommending and coordinating appropriate disciplinary or performance improvement actions in matters of rule violations and substandard performance. Attend and participate in selected employee investigations, corrective action meetings, and terminations.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of HR processes. Apply measures and assessment methods to drive continuous improvement and assure effectiveness, consistency, and fairness.
  • Partner with other ZB functions to ensure compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, business communications, data summaries, and other documents of both a recurring and nonrecurring nature. Perform moderately complex analyses of data to draw inferences or conclusions to drive sound decisions.
  • Perform other routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Strong working knowledge of HR information systems, strategic planning process, basic statistical analysis and problem-solving methods, and practices and trends influencing human resources management.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences at various organizational levels.
  • Ability to engage and influence internal business partners and team members at all levels of the organization, establishing relationships quickly with a broad range of constituents. Must possess a collaborative style to work effectively throughout the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail to keep accurate records and organize information effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated history of taking initiative, meeting commitments, and assisting in the creation of new tools or solutions to achieve business results. Ability to tolerate ambiguity, handle multiple priorities, and identify creative solutions to problems.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, industry trends, legal and regulatory requirements, talent management and rewards, and emerging HR technologies.
  • Proficiency in U.S. employment and labor laws, as well as systems and methods relating to staffing, performance management, training and development, career planning, and succession planning.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field and 6+ years of related experience required.
  • Ten+ years of related experience is preferred and a commensurate combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, and selection experience required.
  • Experience in employee relations, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, EEO, and with other employment and related laws required.
  • Human Resources certification strongly preferred.

Travel Expectations

Up to 20% domestic and int'l travel
