Job Description
About The Team
The Finance Technology team at Zillow builds and supports the systems that power Zillow Group’s financial operations, encompassing revenue, accounting, procurement, treasury, and tax. We are responsible for the platforms and integrations that enable accurate external reporting and the monetization of Zillow’s premium products. This includes both SaaS systems like Workday and Zuora, as well as custom-built internal applications.
Our work directly supports the CFO organization, significantly impacting operational integrity, SOX compliance, financial accuracy, and the business’s ability to scale. We collaborate closely with Accounting, Tax, Finance, Product, and Engineering. Success in this environment demands curiosity, resilience, accountability, and the skill to navigate complex, cross-functional settings.
About The Role
Zillow is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager, Finance Technology with extensive hands-on ERP experience, a solid understanding of Accounting and Tax concepts, and a proven ability to represent Finance effectively in product and engineering discussions. This role requires an individual who can confidently operate in detailed financial system design (AR, AP, billing, revenue), while also communicating clearly at the senior leadership level.
This person will serve as the primary interface between the CFO organization and Zillow’s broader Product and Engineering organization. They must ensure that Finance requirements are identified early, accurately represented, and integrated into product development cycles. This includes supporting and helping deliver the overall Finance roadmap and acting as a trusted partner to senior Accounting, Finance, Tax, and FinTech leaders.
A successful candidate can seamlessly transition from leading a cross-functional meeting to reviewing revenue rules in Zuora, or drafting data-driven narrative documents and executive updates.
This role has been categorized as Remote.
You Will Get To
- Lead programs spanning multiple business and engineering groups, ensuring Finance, Accounting, Tax, and FinTech requirements are represented and prioritized.
- Own and drive roadmap execution for Finance Technology, partnering closely with senior leaders across organizations.
- Participate in and lead Agile teams, ensuring functional and technical requirements are well understood, documented, and validated.
- Engage deeply with ERP and revenue systems such as Workday, Zuora Billing, and Zuora Revenue, specifically in areas related to AR, AP, billing, revenue recognition, tax, and integrations.
- Facilitate design discussions and guide teams through decision-making that balances technical constraints with financial accuracy and compliance obligations.
- Develop, write, and maintain clear narrative documents for executive consumption, including status updates, program proposals, and risk assessments.
- Identify risks early, create mitigation plans, and ensure accountability across cross-functional partners.
- Support compliance-driven initiatives, including SOX controls, audit requests, financial close processes, and system governance.
- Build trusted relationships across Product, Engineering, Accounting, Tax, Finance, and FinTech to ensure coordinated delivery.
Who You Are
You possess meaningful, hands-on experience, not just exposure, in financial systems, accounting processes, and cross-functional program delivery. You can independently represent Finance in technical and product discussions, supported by real-world examples. You are comfortable leading complex programs and communicating decisions to senior leaders. You are a strong written communicator capable of producing narrative-driven documents that explain issues, tradeoffs, and recommendations in a way that meets executive expectations and withstands scrutiny. You thrive in environments requiring you to bring clarity to ambiguity and ensure alignment, accountability, and shared outcomes among relevant stakeholders.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–7 years of direct experience working with ERP and financial systems, including hands-on work with Workday (especially AR/AP) and Zuora Billing/Zuora Revenue or similar revenue-automation platforms.
- Practical, applied understanding of accounting fundamentals, revenue processes, tax considerations, and financial operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs involving Accounting, Tax, Finance, Product, and Engineering with measurable business impact.
- Experience guiding teams through complex system design, integration, and workflow decisions.
- Ability to independently run cross-organizational meetings representing Finance and drive outcomes without escalation.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience creating narrative documents for senior leadership that synthesize complex technical and business issues.
- Proven track record defining and delivering multi-quarter program roadmaps.
Strongly Preferred Experience
- PMP or equivalent program management certification, or demonstrated mastery of structured PM methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with financial system integrations, such as Workday ↔ treasury systems or billing ↔ revenue integrations.
- Deep familiarity with financial compliance environments (SOX, audit controls, financial reporting).
- Background supporting or working directly in Accounting or Tax organizations.
- Experience leading technology programs with strict operational accuracy requirements.
