About the Role & Your Impact
As the first Lead Product Designer at Zero Homes, you will join an early stage team of designers, engineers, and climate tech leaders. You are a senior individual contributor managing a team of 3 designers and reporting to the Head of Product and Engineering. You will own product management, UX, UI, prototype building and collaborate closely with leadership to translate ideas into a clear product vision and roadmap.
- Redesign mobile apps for homeowners and contractors
- Oversee evolution of the website and web-based design tools
- Create prototypes using Figma and coded solutions
- Work cross-functionally with engineering and leadership
- Operate with broad latitude and minimal oversight
What You Bring
You are a generalist with refined design taste, capable of handling everything from research and brainstorming to prototyping and coding (HTML/CSS/JS). You’re a detail-oriented systems thinker passionate about complete product ownership anchored on user needs. You thrive in dynamic team environments, relish in-person collaboration, and are excited to build products that foster sustainable, healthy living.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with large scale consumer or B2B products
- Graphic design, illustration, or video production skills
- Industry experience in residential construction, electrification, HVAC, CAD, Solar, or Energy
- Experience at an early-stage startup
Compensation & Benefits
- $150,000 - $250,000 a year
