Position Summary

The Marketing and Communications Associate will be responsible for day-to-day implementation of marketing and communications strategies at Zero Foodprint. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, the associate will produce various digital and physical assets aligned with existing brand guidelines, and will maintain essential administrative systems.

Essential Responsibilities

Graphic Design: Production of digital assets (decks, one-pagers, social media graphics, email newsletters, website graphics) and physical assets such as drop cards and merch items. Basic webpage design and template adaptation using website builders.

Copywriting: Writing and editing email newsletters and social media captions, summarizing audio interviews and transcriptions, and creating SEO-optimized blog and website copy.

Digital Media Production: Creating and editing social media content including graphics, photos, videos, carousels, and ads. Producing website blog content with appropriate copy and multimedia elements.

Marketing & Communications Administration: Managing social media channels and accounts, engaging with basic responses, collecting data from various sources, and organizing digital files across systems such as Google Drive, Canva, Adobe Suite, and Monday.

Additional Tasks: Managing digital events, ordering physical collateral, and tracking media impressions.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Candidates need strong time management, proficiency with Google Suite, Mailchimp, Meta, and basic experience with graphic design programs (Canva and Adobe Suite). Experience with website builders like Squarespace or similar platforms is preferred, along with excellent copywriting and communication skills. Familiarity with digital trends and knowledge in food and beverage, climate action, or regenerative agriculture is advantageous. Additional desirable skills include basic understanding of digital automation tools and custom CSS.

Benefits & Work Schedule

This is a full-time, salaried, US-based remote position. Work hours are primarily 9am - 5pm Pacific Time, with flexibility depending on time-zone. Benefits include 10 days PTO (increasing after 2 years), paid sick leave, 13 paid holidays, medical/dental/vision benefits, and a remote work stipend.
