As a Senior Voice AI Agent Engineer at Zendesk, you will engineer intelligent, autonomous agents capable of understanding and interacting using human-like voice communication.
What You Will Do
You will design and develop robust, stateful, and scalable voice-first AI agents using Python. Your responsibilities include integrating real-time Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), and Voice Activity Detection (VAD) services, connecting with enterprise systems, and ensuring robust error handling.
- Develop end-to-end conversational flows with reasoning and planning.
- Integrate third-party APIs and enterprise databases.
- Establish evaluation metrics and improve system performance.
- Collaborate with product managers, ML Scientists, and engineers.
Requirements
Proven experience in LLM-Oriented System Design and Voice AI expertise is essential. You should have a strong background in building low-latency, streaming voice applications with Python and FastAPI, and familiarity with multi-agent systems and integration of STT/TTS services. Experience with API integrations, CI/CD, and cloud deployments is required.
Nice-to-have
An advanced degree in Computer Science or related fields, background in conversational UX, and experience with real-time streaming architectures are advantageous.

Hybrid Work Arrangement
