About the Role
The Quality Assurance Engineer at Zenara Health is the guardian of quality across our software. This role is a partnership, not just testing. You will own QA through manual, automated, and process-driven approaches to ensure every software release is reliable, performant, and secure.
What You Will Do
You will translate complex requirements into test plans, enforce standards, and prevent defects from reaching clinicians and patients.
- Develop and execute manual and automated test plans for web and mobile applications.
- Log, track, and verify defects using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Design and document test cases, scripts, and reports.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and security teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Ensure performance, regression and compliance with HIPAA, security best practices, and healthcare regulations.
- Advocate for and drive continuous process improvements.
Values & Vibe
You are meticulous, collaborative, and proactive – enforcing quality with kind authority while ensuring the team delivers trusted software. You are the amplifier who supports a creative engineering team without compromising on patient safety or reliability.
A Day in Flow
Start your day with a brief check-in to review executed tests, found defects, and any escalated risks. During sprints, convert feature specifications into actionable test plans and results. At the end of the day, ensure bugs are logged, regression tests updated, and CI/CD pipelines verified.
What Success Looks Like
- Defects are caught before production.
- High regression test coverage through effective automation.
- QA processes are seamlessly adopted across the team.
- Compliance and audit readiness is maintained at all times.
Requirements
2–4+ years of software QA experience in manual and/or automated testing. Strong understanding of SDLC, testing methodologies, and defect tracking is required. Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, and familiarity with REST APIs using tools like Postman is essential.
Preferred qualifications include experience in healthcare IT, cloud familiarity (preferably Azure), CI/CD pipeline knowledge, performance/load testing skills (JMeter, k6), and ISTQB or other QA certifications.
Benefits & Schedule
- Remote-first work arrangement with flexible hours and US Pacific overlap.
- Equipment stipend and learning budget (QA, security, cloud).
- Local holidays in India.
