Overview
The Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer at ZEISS Group in India is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining reliable, scalable cloud infrastructures using container orchestration, monitoring tools, and automation frameworks to ensure high performance and fault tolerance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) with hands-on expertise.
- Implement scalable and fault-tolerant systems using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Setup and manage monitoring, alerting and logging systems with tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Work closely with multiple teams including Product Owners, SREs and Cloud Platform Teams to ensure smooth migration and operations.
- Oversee incident management, troubleshooting, and post-mortem analysis.
- Design observability frameworks using SLIs, SLOs and automated playbooks.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and documentation to drive SRE best practices.
Experience & Skills
Candidates should have 8-12 years of industry experience, with minimum 3 years as a Site Reliability Engineering Lead and 5 years in SRE roles. Proficiency with Azure cloud platforms, system architecture, networking, microservices, container orchestration and scripting is essential.
