Job Overview

The Technical Sales Representative is an outside salesperson at Technical Sales Representative. Using technical skill, product knowledge, and an understanding of the customer's business, you will sell products and services to current and prospective customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a network of sales leads.
  • Communicate with customers to understand their needs and suggest appropriate products.
  • Create solutions utilizing seals, gaskets, and related offerings.
  • Demonstrate product functions and benefits based on customer needs.
  • Develop and implement regional or industry-specific sales strategies.
  • Match product features to client needs using technical knowledge.
  • Respond to inquiries with information, quotes, and bid specifications.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and agreements effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate order processing.
  • Prepare and report on accounts and lead status periodically.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, formal sales training, and 5 years of field sales experience. Relevant material knowledge in rubber and plastic is required.

Physical Requirements: Extended periods in a vehicle or at a computer, lift up to 15 pounds routinely, occasionally up to 50 pounds, must be able to travel.
