Job Description

Email & App Marketing Associate at Zappos

Zappos is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Email & App Marketing Associate to support and enhance the global email and push notification program. This role is crucial for driving revenue growth and delivering a best-in-class customer marketing experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Code, build, and test email communications and push notifications.
  • Set up, test, QA, and launch dynamic content, monitoring daily campaigns and troubleshooting errors.
  • Design emails and fix issues using HTML/CSS and marketing cloud developer tools.
  • Refresh and modernize existing email templates and manage a calendar for on-time delivery.
  • Execute A/B tests to improve email and push notification performance.
  • Serve as a Marketing Cloud technical expert to optimize reporting, targeting, acquisition, and retention.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify testing opportunities, personalization, and new lifecycle campaigns.
  • Partner with technical consultants for new application development and integration.
  • Implement and optimize lifecycle marketing campaigns and automated journeys for personalization and business needs.
  • Analyze campaign performance, manage the email database (merge, purge, dedupe, append), and ensure data synchronization with other databases and internal systems.
  • Work with Data Engineers and vendors to ensure data synchronization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional marketing experience (non-internship).
  • 1+ years of experience with Salesforce, Tableau, Vidyard, and Excel.
  • 1+ years of experience designing, building, and launching successful email engagement programs, specifically lifecycle/nurture programs.
  • 2+ years of scripting language or software development experience.
  • Experience using email platforms and editing HTML.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience troubleshooting technical systems.
  • Knowledge of API frameworks.
  • Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • Project management experience including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Experience working proactively, independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a major brand or entertainment company in project/production management.
  • Experience using data visualization tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge (pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links).
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive web design.
  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL.
  • Experience building and formatting web pages and email templates.
  • Experience in online retail operations or e-commerce.
  • Experience with A/B testing, revenue management techniques.
  • Experience handling ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
