Driving Enterprise AI Automation

Zapier is at the forefront of AI automation, helping businesses increase productivity and enhance customer service through extensive integrations, robust workflow automations, and practical AI applications. Our mission is to make automation accessible to everyone, with a current strategic focus on empowering Enterprise customers—organizations with hundreds or thousands of employees—to implement automation at scale with control, visibility, and confidence.

To support this expansion, Zapier's Enterprise zone is hiring across multiple backend, full-stack, and frontend engineering roles. We seek engineers passionate about solving complex problems, delivering new value to customers, and driving innovation in workflow management to shape the future of automation for leading companies.

Enterprise Zone Teams and Focus

The Enterprise zone comprises several teams, and we are currently hiring across three key areas:

  • Enterprise Response
  • Asset Management
  • Insights
Enterprise Response Team Focus

This team is critical for maintaining system resilience and reliability, especially during high-demand periods for our largest customers. They innovate in crucial customer areas and deliver highly requested core features that span multiple teams. This team interacts with every part of the stack, ensuring fast, dependable service for our biggest clients.

In this Software Engineer, Enterprise Zone role, you'll:
  • Lead responses to critical incidents and customer-impacting events.
  • Work directly with enterprise customers.
  • Collaborate across engineering, product, and support to solve urgent problems.
  • Build internal tools and improve core product features based on real-world customer feedback.
  • Develop a new extensible platform for account and organization-level settings, applying declarative controls, VPC connections to on-prem data, and instrumenting account-wide AI guardrail controls.
Asset Management Team Focus

This team builds and scales systems that make every Zapier asset across products and workspaces discoverable, governable, and portable. You will architect and deepen enterprise-grade Platform APIs to manage assets across multiple products, ensuring consistency, reliability, and performance at scale for all customers.

In this Software Engineer, Enterprise Zone role, you'll:
  • Design and implement scalable backend architecture and APIs for asset cataloging, ownership, and security.
  • Build intuitive, unified interfaces for organizing, transferring, and governing assets across accounts and products.
  • Embed AI technology into core product experiences to proactively monitor and suggest optimizations to account management.
  • Drive technical alignment with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization.
  • Deliver fast-paced solutions and POCs, prioritizing impact over deep polish, while balancing short-term execution with long-term technical vision.
  • Tackle challenges in data standards, compliance automation, and cross-product integrations.

This team is central to Zapier's multi-product strategy, enabling faster product onboarding, reducing manual support burden, and delivering key enterprise capabilities.

Enterprise Insights Team Focus

This team builds and maintains the core systems that support our customers. We are creating the playbook for account oversight, connecting and supporting Zapier's products.

In this Software Engineer, Enterprise Zone role, you'll work on:
  • Building scalable platforms like User Notifications, Unified Smart Inboxes, Audit Logs, and Public APIs to give customers better visibility, control, and access across Zapier.
  • Supporting key use cases such as compliance, error tracking, and transactional alerts through reliable communication systems.
  • Creating and improving observability features like SLOs, alerts, and dashboards to help Zapier grow.
  • Strengthening core systems as we expand to serve larger and more complex customers.
  • Leading important projects from start to finish—using AI to speed up development and improve the customer experience, while working closely with your team.

All these roles are instrumental in Zapier's upmarket strategy, directly impacting company ARR. They are high-impact, high-reward positions involving far-reaching features, new challenges, and close customer connection daily.

High Visibility, High Impact

If you thrive on ambitious goals and meaningful work, this is the team for you:

  • Work on high-impact features directly influencing premium plan sales and strategic enterprise deals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Revenue, Support, and GTM teams.
  • Work in a high-visibility area with strong leadership support and a clear growth path.
  • Play a key role in Zapier's growth trajectory—you're part of the engine.

Openings and Leveling

We are hiring multiple Software Engineer, Enterprise Zone openings across two levels: Engineer (L3) and Senior Engineer (L4). We use a shared pipeline and map candidates to the appropriate level based on observations during the process. You don't need to decide upfront.

The Difference Between Levels Comes Down To Scope:
  • L3 engineers own outcomes end-to-end within their team, breaking down complex problems, shipping iteratively, and driving strong technical execution in their domain.
  • L4 engineers perform all L3 duties and extend their impact beyond their team, coordinating across ownership boundaries, shaping technical direction for adjacent systems, and mentoring other engineers.

Our level definitions may differ from other companies; we level based on observed performance, not current title. We will be transparent about leveling before the final stages.

About You

These qualities apply across both levels, with scope varying. We welcome engineers from diverse backgrounds. You'll be successful if:

  • You're a proven SaaS engineering builder. You have deep experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex mission-critical systems. You are proficient in writing backend services (Python or Node.js ideal) and comfortable with API design, database modeling, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • You work through AI agents, not alongside them. Your daily development workflow involves directing and reviewing agent-written code. You have informed opinions on AI models, understand failure modes and mitigations, and your workflow actively evolves. Bonus: You use multi-agent patterns, enable others with AI, or have scaled AI impact.
  • You know event-driven systems and have strong platform thinking. You've built scalable tools that accelerate other teams. You're familiar with systems like Kafka, SQS, and Fastify, and observability tools like Datadog, Grafana, and Graylog.
  • You work close to the customer. You proactively gather customer insights from tickets, CSMs, and feedback to drive development. You think in milestone slices, prioritizing small, impactful releases for learning.
  • You ship through ambiguity. When faced with unclear paths, you gather evidence, break problems into narrow slices, and deliver rough working software quickly. You use prototypes to gain alignment, comfortable with iterating and discarding work as a fast learning loop.
  • You own your work and yourself. You take initiative, ship fast, and share early. You also openly acknowledge mistakes, gaps, and your role in friction without shame, holding yourself to high standards.
  • You communicate proactively in an async-first culture. You manage up and across, flagging risks, surfacing decisions, and informing stakeholders proactively. You primarily use written artifacts, working demos, and rough prototypes for communication.
  • You believe enterprise can move fast. You know how to balance compliance, security, and rollout considerations with tight iteration loops and rapid customer feedback, viewing enterprise constraints as interesting design problems.
