Position Overview
Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. (ZNE) is seeking an Engineer VI, Civil/Structural for a direct hire position. The successful candidate will perform engineering and design activities for power plant upgrades and new projects under senior engineering supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calculations, modifications, and design work.
- Evaluate and apply standard engineering methods and procedures.
- Collaborate with project teams to assess conditions and improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a BS in Civil (Structural) Engineering from an accredited program is required. Demonstrated knowledge of industry codes including ACI, AISC, and ASCE 7 is essential, as evidenced by academic or work experience.
Additional Skills and Requirements
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel to client sites, with capability to work in field/office environments.
- Physical ability to perform walk downs, climb ladders, and access confined or hazardous areas.
