Node.js Software Engineer - Remote
YO IT Consulting is seeking experienced software engineers to train and evaluate next-generation AI systems through real-world software engineering tasks. This role is ideal for developers who excel at understanding new codebases, articulating engineering choices, and resolving practical backend, full-stack, systems, or infrastructure challenges. Prior AI experience is not necessary; the focus is on strong software engineering judgment, clear technical communication, and the ability to assess code, architecture, trade-offs, and implementation quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake complex software engineering tasks spanning backend, full-stack, infrastructure, and systems projects.
- Review, debug, enhance, and explain code across diverse technical landscapes.
- Design or assess practical solutions involving APIs, databases, services, integrations, testing, and deployment processes.
- Identify trade-offs related to scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and developer experience.
- Articulate technical reasoning effectively in writing, detailing solution efficacy and alternative considerations.
- Collaborate with client teams on technical reviews, implementation strategies, and problem-solving.
- Rapidly adapt to new codebases, frameworks, and technical demands.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in at least one backend or full-stack environment (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#, .NET, C++, Go, Ruby, PHP).
- Proven experience building, maintaining, or reviewing production-level applications, APIs, services, databases, or integrations.
- Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals, including debugging, testing, code quality, architecture, and technical trade-offs.
- Exceptional ability to clearly and objectively explain complex engineering decisions.
- Comfort reading and reasoning through unfamiliar code or technical requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, containers, monitoring, or production operations.
- Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, or React Native.
