Job Description
Role Summary
The Early Warning Signals Analyst role at YES BANK involves being a key team player in the Fraud Containment Unit. This position is responsible for defining relevant indicators, gathering and validating information for trigger accuracy, and interpreting the outcomes of EWS reviews. You will facilitate the collection and processing of market and company information for Credit monitoring (including bank transaction monitoring, stock statement monitoring, and overdue accounts) to enable early detection of stress and prevention of potentially fraudulent activities. Additionally, you will support the implementation of the wilful default policy within the bank by collecting and processing relevant information.
Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
Strategic/ Managerial Responsibilities
- Identify potential stress or frauds by analyzing various internal alerts (transactional, behavioral, financial) and external alerts, escalating findings to stakeholders.
- Facilitate the implementation of the wilful default policy by collecting and processing relevant information.
- Demonstrate robust analytical capabilities to identify early signs of portfolio stress and communicate them effectively.
Core Responsibilities
- Function within the Fraud Containment Unit, engaging with Corporate, SME, and Retail verticals to identify incipient stress in borrower portfolios.
- Proactively analyze information from market indicators, transactional parameters, financial parameters, and external news.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders (Business, Credit, Legal, Collection, Secretarial, etc.) to ensure timely completion of processes.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of regulatory guidelines and master circulars.
- Constantly engage and coordinate with stakeholders to track timely closure and obtain approvals for process modifications/enhancements.
- Impart training to relevant stakeholders on regulatory requirements and the wilful defaulter’s process.
- Monitor and present monthly reviews of exposure reported/screened under wilful defaulters.
People Management or Self-Management Responsibilities
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to ensure the efficacy of EWS / RFA/Wilful defaulters processes, alert generation, and identification of accounts requiring close monitoring.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals for finalizing process modifications or enhancements.
Risk and Internal Control Responsibilities
- Convene meetings at defined intervals to present outcomes and provide periodic updates to senior management.
Key Interactions
This role requires frequent interaction with:
- Business, Credit, Risk, Legal, Secretarial & CDAG teams at various levels of management.
- External agencies/vendors as per requirement.
Knowledge & Experience
KNOWLEDGE
Minimum Qualifications:
- MBA/PG-in Finance
- CA
Professional Certifications:
- Proficiency in MS-Excel
- Knowledge of Credit assessment will be an added advantage.
Language Skills:
- Written and spoken English is essential.
