As an Android Staff Engineer, you will drive the technical standards for Android applications across our consumer domain, collaborating with multiple squads. You will lead Android engineers in developing tech roadmaps, making architecture decisions, and managing the feature development and release cycle. You will also mentor junior developers and contribute to scaling Android engineering by hiring great talent through technical interviews.Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain features for the domain applications.
- Provide technical leadership and manage dependencies.
- Conduct design and code reviews.
- Assist domain team members with technical blockers, supporting their growth.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize efficiency.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions.
- Strongly contribute to building the technical roadmap.
- Conduct technical interviews.
- Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
About Your Experience
- BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
- At least 8 years of Android mobile engineering experience, with 3 years using Kotlin.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Enjoy solving problems and helping others meet their goals.
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
- Substantial experience with Git in a team environment.
- Hands-on experience with mobile DevOps CI/CD tools.
- Experience working with different architectures.
- Experience writing testable code and unit tests.
- Have published multiple Android applications to the Google Play Store.
- Experience in a fast-growing startup in the on-demand services space is a plus.
