About the Role:
Are you highly focused, self-motivated, and passionate about affordable housing? RightSource is growing, and we’re looking for a team player with experience in Section 8, Low Income Housing Tax Credit, HOME, and Rural Development programs to join us as a Compliance Auditor. In this role, you’ll review tenant certifications, identify and help resolve compliance issues, and support clients in meeting critical regulatory requirements. Note: This position requires flexibility for travel during the second week of employment for training purposes. Training may be conducted locally or at an alternate location based on business needs. Candidates should be prepared and available to travel as required during this time.
What You’ll Do:
- Audit tenant certifications to ensure applicants and households meet project, program, and income eligibility requirements.
- Use your high attention to detail to complete certification processing and ensure files are reviewed within a strict 24-hour period.
- Support clients in achieving regulatory and financial compliance by ensuring submitted files are eligible and fully compliant.
- Stay up to date on changes and updates in affordable housing regulations and program requirements.
Who You Are:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three plus (3+) years of experience in affordable housing compliance and/or affordable property management.
- Section 8, LIHTC, HOME, and RD program experience.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and good judgment.
- Task-focused with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
Ideal to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, housing studies, regulatory affairs, or another rule-based field.
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO), Blended Occupancy Specialist (BOS), and/or Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM®) or other affordable industry certifications.
- Knowledge of Yardi or other property management software programs.
