Role Summary

This entry level Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacist I supports our pharmacy department by demonstrating competency in clinical skills and basic pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service Quality: Demonstrate and promote CHAMP behaviors.
  • Medication Management: Conduct timely, accurate medication order reviews considering patient laboratory values and vital signs.
  • Medication Preparation & Distribution: Utilize pharmacy automation and technology effectively.
  • Medication Safety, Regulatory & Quality Assurance: Adhere strictly to departmental policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Leadership: Provide education and training to pharmacy staff, students, residents, and healthcare teams.
  • Financial/Volume Results: Contribute to cost-reduction and revenue generation.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or PharmD degree.

Experience: ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience is desirable; hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

Licensure: Current Connecticut Pharmacist License or eligibility for licensure in Connecticut.

Special Skills: Basic knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics, understanding of drug distribution systems, excellent verbal and written communication, and teamwork abilities.
