Job Description

Content Analyst and Knowledge Engineer

It takes powerful technology to connect our brands and partners with an audience of hundreds of millions of people. Whether you’re looking to write mobile app code, engineer the servers behind our massive ad tech stacks, or develop algorithms to help us process trillions of data points a day, what you do here will have a huge impact on our business—and the world.

A Little About Us

We are the human intelligence layer that refines the core search experience for millions of users across all platforms. We combine rigorous diagnostic testing, cutting-edge query analysis, and strategic content programming to ensure the highest quality, most relevant, and most up-to-date search results.

A Lot About You

You are a highly versatile and editorially-minded data enthusiast. We're looking for that rare talent who can pivot seamlessly between strategic content management, deep search behavior analysis, and precise content classification. Your work will require you to be a step ahead, predicting emerging Internet, pop culture, and social media trends to ensure our search experience is always timely and relevant.

Your Day

  • Drive iterative improvements by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on content programming performance, translating raw data into actionable insights.
  • Influence the product roadmap by conducting in-depth competitive landscape and user climate analysis, proposing and advocating for high-impact feature enhancements.
  • Act as the editorial Subject Matter Expert (SME), ensuring seamless, high-velocity communication of product changes and escalating critical issues across cross-functional teams.
  • Establish order from complexity by classifying diverse, unstructured data and synthesizing user query analysis to articulate explicit user wants and underlying needs.
  • Innovate and champion next-generation content programming concepts, methods, and quality assurance techniques.
  • Execute content curation and featuring with precision, applying a rigorous blend of data-driven performance metrics and professional journalistic standards.
  • Bridge the gap between editorial and AI by collaborating directly with Engineering and Data Science teams on the development of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms for cutting-edge ranking, classification, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) initiatives.

You Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS). Preferred fields: Linguistics, Data Science/Information Management, Journalism, or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of progressive, relevant experience in content analysis, search quality, or data-driven content management.
  • Exceptional organizational and strategic communication skills—including the ability to articulate complex technical issues in clear, precise written and verbal form.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound editorial and business judgment.
  • Strong technical aptitude and proven ability to interface effectively with Engineering teams, including a deep understanding of the unique algorithmic and UX challenges of mobile vs. desktop search.
  • Expertise in taxonomy development, content categorization systems, and data classification schema.
  • Proven analytical ability to collect, interpret, and translate complex search data into content requirements.
