Job Description

Short term Communications Support to WWF International Finance Practice and Corporate Engagement team

WWF International is seeking a dedicated professional for short-term communications support to its Finance Practice and Corporate Engagement team. This consultancy contract, with a starting date of March 1, 2026, and an end date of June 30, 2026 (with potential for extension), requires a professional with at least 10 years of strategic communications experience, particularly within sustainable finance. This role is crucial for enhancing WWF's profile as a global thought leader and supporting its Roadmap 2030 objectives.

The position is open to candidates based in WWF International hubs or working virtually.

Major Functions for the Finance Practice

Working closely with the Practice Core Team, other Practice Communicators, and the WWF International Communication & Marketing (C&M) team, this role will support the strategic development and delivery of external communications. The primary goal is to build WWF’s profile and reputation as a global thought leader in sustainable finance, helping the Finance Practice achieve its objectives with target audiences and contribute to the WWF’s Roadmap 2030.

Major Duties & Responsibilities (Finance Practice)

  • Profile & Thought Leadership: Guide, advise, and support the Practice Leader and Core Team on speaking engagements, panel participation, and social media, aiming to maximize stakeholder and media engagement and increase WWF’s profile as a thought leader.
  • Content Production: Produce relevant and timely content in collaboration with the WWF International C&M team and the Practice Core and Leadership Teams.
  • Cross-Practice: Provide support for cross-Practice external communications as needed.
  • Website: Collaborate with the Finance Practice to ensure panda.org is current, supports stakeholder engagement, and facilitates the delivery of Practice objectives.
  • Measurement & Evaluation: Work with the WWF International C&M Division to implement suitable measurement tools to demonstrate the value and impact of communications efforts.

Note: Internal communications and dedicated Initiative communications are outside the scope of this role.

Major Functions for the Global Corporate Engagement Team

Through targeted tasks and deliverables, this role will bolster the Global Corporate Engagement Team’s contribution to WWF’s advocacy efforts. This involves developing and delivering joint advocacy with the private sector to support WWF’s 2030 Roadmap, goals, and priorities (75%), alongside fostering thought leadership and advocacy on nature-positive business and finance (25%).

Major Duties & Responsibilities (Global Corporate Engagement Team)

  • Facilitate the strengthening and development of corporate advocacy strategies aligned with WWF’s 2030 Roadmap, goals, and priorities, particularly within the Global Corporate Engagement Strategy.
  • Support effective engagement with corporate partners on corporate advocacy across the WWF network, ensuring delivery in collaboration with relevant teams and offices, and liaising with external partners when appropriate.
  • Support the integration of corporate advocacy within international transformational partnerships, including those managed by the Global Corporate Engagement Team, and identify opportunities for joint advocacy in partnership development proposals.
  • Strengthen network and partner engagement in corporate advocacy, including by supporting EPO and their advocacy community.
  • Develop and train the WWF network with guidance and tools on corporate advocacy, utilizing resources like Partnership Guidelines, Industry Approaches, Corporate Engagement Hub, and case studies.
  • Work closely with key offices and Practice policy leads to ensure WWF’s advocacy asks and propositions for corporate partners are credible, material, consistent, partner-ready, and add value to existing business engagement on biodiversity and nature.
  • Curate and internally promote corporate advocacy opportunities for WWF partners via the Corporate Advocacy Bulletin, Corporate Advocacy Calendar, timely webinars, CE Hub resources, and internal WWF channels such such as Workplace and the CE Newsletter.
  • Enhance corporate advocacy impact monitoring, including the development of KPIs and reporting on corporate advocacy for Roadmap 2030.
  • Support the development and creation of WWF thought leadership content on nature-positive business and finance, collaborating with relevant WWF teams as necessary.

Project Timeline & Budget

The project runs from March 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026. Budget allocation is 5 days per month for the Finance Practice and 5.5 to 11 days per month for the Global Corporate Engagement team during this period.
