About the Role
The Senior Design Engineer role sits at the intersection of design and engineering. You will translate ideas from sketches in Figma to fully functional interfaces in React and TypeScript, ensuring design quality and UI performance. You will be WunderGraph's first Design Engineer, collaborating across design, product, and engineering to build a cohesive product and brand experience.
Role Objectives
- Lead end-to-end design engineering for web and product experiences.
- Drive scalable and technically feasible design systems.
- Translate customer needs and business goals into user-centric solutions.
- Champion accessibility, usability, responsiveness, and performance.
- Mentor teammates on design and front-end best practices.
Role Tasks
Product & Design Engineering: Design prototypes, define design systems, conduct user research, and implement interaction designs.
Web & Brand Experience: Evolve WunderGraph’s web presence with landing pages, visuals, and interactive components.
Leadership & Collaboration: Establish best practices for design-to-engineering workflows, mentor team members, and represent the team in cross-functional workshops.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in Design Engineering, UX/UI Design, or Product Design.
- Proficiency in Figma (or Adobe Creative Suite) and prototyping tools.
- Strong front-end coding skills with React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript.
- Solid background in UX research, accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimization.
- Experience in design systems and component libraries.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
- A self-starter comfortable with 100% remote work and occasional travel.

The Process
