The Opportunity
As a Lead Environmental Project Manager at WSP, you will lead environmental impact assessment and permitting projects in sectors such as nuclear, renewable energy, transmission, transportation, infrastructure, mining, and oil & gas across Ontario and Canada.
You will collaborate with technical teams to deliver high-quality environmental consulting services, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities include managing scopes related to environmental and socio-economic impact assessment, permitting, field investigations, desktop analyses, research, and occasionally construction and post-construction monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage environmental impact assessment and permitting projects through all phases.
- Oversee project scope, schedule, quality, and financial reporting.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks including environmental and regulatory risks.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and permits.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Mentor team members and promote a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and permitting projects.
- Valid PMI certification or equivalent project management experience.
- Proficiency with project management tools (Oracle, MS Project, Primavera).
- In-depth knowledge of federal and Ontario environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
