Responsibilities

Qualifications

- Masters or PhD degree in Mathematics, Physics, Hydrogeological Sciences or Geological / Civil / Environmental / Mining Engineering or related field.- Minimum 4 to 9 years of experience.- Experience in numerical analyses for engineering applications.- Understanding of numerical methods including finite difference, finite element, and control volume finite element approaches.- Proficiency in the use of commercial numerical groundwater modeling codes (FEFLOW, MODFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, etc.) is an asset.- Experience with visualization software (GIS, Surfer, Leapfrog, CAD, etc.).- Experience with general-purpose scripting/programming is an asset (Python, VBA, etc.).- Experience in global optimization and developing complex 3D geometries for numerical modeling purposes.- Experience with parameter estimation and global optimization software.- Understanding of data science and analytics, and practical applications in hydrogeology.- Direct exposure to machine learning would be an asset.- Some understanding and experience with physical hydrogeology would be an asset.- Demonstrates critical analytical and strong written and verbal communication skills.- Experience with Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).- Self-motivated, curious, and well-organized.- Ability to work in a team environment.
