As a Municipal Project Engineer/Manager based in Calgary, you will step into a pivotal role, shaping the future of one of Canada's fastest-growing cities and the surrounding communities throughout Southern Alberta and the Canadian Rockies. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, delivering meaningful water, wastewater, drainage, roadway, and land development projects that advance infrastructure supporting thriving, resilient communities. Your Impact as a Municipal Project Engineer/Manager
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of municipal water, wastewater, drainage, roadway, and site‑servicing projects for both public and private sector clients.
- Guide multidisciplinary teams through conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases, ensuring excellence and innovation in every deliverable.
- Grow and strengthen client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor from project initiation through completion.
- Collaborate with municipal, utility, and regulatory agencies to navigate planning and approval processes, keeping projects moving forward.
- Oversee budgets, schedules, scope, and project quality to ensure successful, predictable outcomes.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical oversight during construction‑related activities.
- Mentor and elevate emerging professionals within the Calgary municipal design practice.
- Contribute to proposal development, including scope definition, fee development, and RFP response strategy.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- 10 to 15+ years of experience delivering municipal infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and an active P.Eng. designation in Alberta.
- Proven capability leading complex municipal engineering projects and multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Strong understanding of Alberta municipal processes, permitting pathways, and infrastructure standards; exposure to mountain‑region projects is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience designing water, sanitary, stormwater, and roadway systems.
- PMP certification is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and readiness to support site‑based work as required.

Compensation
The salary range for this position in AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT is $122,900 – $162,800. The final salary may vary based on factors including education, qualifications, experience, skills, and geographic location.
