Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an enthusiastic and analytical Junior Product Owner with a strong passion for leveraging data to create impactful products. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the product development lifecycle for our advanced data-driven marketing solutions, including the innovative WPP Open platform. Your responsibilities will involve translating user needs and data insights into precise product requirements, ensuring our solutions are innovative, valuable, and technically robust. Your proficiency in data analysis and SQL will be vital for effective communication with engineering and data science teams and for making informed product decisions.
What You Will Do
Support Product Development & Lifecycle Management
- Assist in defining, documenting, and prioritizing product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria based on user needs, business goals, and thorough data analysis.
- Work collaboratively with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Data Scientists, and UX Designers to ensure a consistent understanding of product features and their underlying data implications.
- Help manage and refine product backlogs, actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and reviews, and support seamless release cycles.
- Conduct competitive analysis and comprehensive market research to identify new opportunities and stay abreast of industry trends in data and AI for marketing.
Leverage Data for Product Insights and Validation
- Utilize SQL and other data analysis tools to query datasets, analyze product performance, identify emerging trends, and generate actionable insights that inform product strategy and prioritization.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers and data scientists to understand data availability, schemas, quality, and potential for developing new product features or enhancements.
- Define and meticulously track key product performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, actively contributing to the evaluation of new feature success post-launch.
- Help ensure robust data quality and integrity within product features, promptly flagging any discrepancies or potential issues.
Facilitate Stakeholder Communication & Feedback
- Communicate timely product updates, release notes, and progress reports to various internal stakeholders, effectively highlighting the data-driven rationale behind product decisions.
- Gather valuable feedback from users, internal teams (e.g., commercial, operations), and clients to continuously iterate and refine our products.
- Support in preparing compelling presentations and comprehensive documentation to clearly articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
Continuous Learning & Contribution
- Actively seek to deepen your understanding of AdTech data, our internal platforms (including WPP Open), and user behaviors through dedicated self-study and mentorship opportunities.
- Contribute meaningfully to the continuous improvement of product management processes and tools within the team.
What You Will Need
- 0-2 years of experience in a product, business analyst, data analyst, or similar role with exposure to software development.
- Proficiency in SQL is essential, demonstrated by the ability to write complex queries to extract, analyze, and manipulate data from diverse sources.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
- English fluency C2.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to define and document clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable product insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice-versa.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
