This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that bridge traditional energy needs with the transition to more sustainable sources. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will develop a strong technical foundation and progress towards becoming a registered Professional Engineer.

As an integral part of the Worley team, the Graduate Process Engineer in Training supports the delivery of safe, high-quality process engineering services to Worley and its customers. This position emphasizes structured mentorship and hands-on project exposure to foster comprehensive professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver process engineering services compliant with Worley, client, and statutory requirements, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution.
  • Support the process engineering team by assisting in the preparation of essential deliverables, including:
    • Process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Heat and material balances
    • Process datasheets, calculations, and technical reports
  • Contribute to engineering studies, technical evaluations, and design reviews under direct supervision.
  • Support the development of process models and simulations as needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary hazard identification and risk assessment activities, such as HAZID and HAZOP.
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation, to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Assist procurement, construction, and commissioning activities through technical clarifications and document reviews.
  • Identify technical issues, propose potential solutions, and seek expert guidance when necessary.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements, actively contributing to Worley’s robust safety culture.

What You Will Bring

Worley seeks candidates with foundational knowledge and a proactive approach to learning within a project-based environment.

Technical & Industry Experience
  • Co-op, internship, or vacation student experience in an engineering or industrial setting is considered a valuable asset.
  • Demonstrated foundational knowledge of core chemical/process engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, and reaction engineering.
  • Developing skills with industry-standard process engineering tools and software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, or similar).
  • Basic proficiency with common productivity tools such as MS Office Suite.
  • A strong sense of curiosity, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a clear willingness to learn.
