Graduate Process Engineer in Training
Worley, a global professional services company specializing in energy, chemicals, and resources, invites aspiring engineers to join their Graduate Community as a Graduate Process Engineer in Training (EIT). This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that bridge traditional energy needs with the transition to more sustainable sources. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will develop a strong technical foundation and progress towards becoming a registered Professional Engineer.
As an integral part of the Worley team, the Graduate Process Engineer in Training supports the delivery of safe, high-quality process engineering services to Worley and its customers. This position emphasizes structured mentorship and hands-on project exposure to foster comprehensive professional development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver process engineering services compliant with Worley, client, and statutory requirements, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution.
- Support the process engineering team by assisting in the preparation of essential deliverables, including:
- Process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Heat and material balances
- Process datasheets, calculations, and technical reports
- Contribute to engineering studies, technical evaluations, and design reviews under direct supervision.
- Support the development of process models and simulations as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary hazard identification and risk assessment activities, such as HAZID and HAZOP.
- Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation, to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Assist procurement, construction, and commissioning activities through technical clarifications and document reviews.
- Identify technical issues, propose potential solutions, and seek expert guidance when necessary.
- Maintain a strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements, actively contributing to Worley’s robust safety culture.

Technical & Industry Experience
- Co-op, internship, or vacation student experience in an engineering or industrial setting is considered a valuable asset.
- Demonstrated foundational knowledge of core chemical/process engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, and reaction engineering.
- Developing skills with industry-standard process engineering tools and software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, or similar).
- Basic proficiency with common productivity tools such as MS Office Suite.
- A strong sense of curiosity, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a clear willingness to learn.
Required Education, Qualifications & Training
A recognized and relevant engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, which qualifies you for registration as an Engineer-in-Training and subsequent progression toward Professional Engineer status.
