About The Team
The Legal team at World manages all global legal affairs. We collaborate across the company to advance the blockchain project, enhance our hardware device, wallet app, and Proof of Personhood products, and ensure regulatory compliance. This includes areas like securities, AML/CFT, consumer protection, privacy, litigation, trade, IP, and labor.
About The Opportunity
As a Privacy Program Specialist, you will support the Privacy Program Lead and the broader privacy legal team. Your role will involve implementing and executing privacy program operations, assisting with risk assessments, coordinating compliance tasks, maintaining crucial privacy documentation, and ensuring consistent privacy practices across all jurisdictions where World operates. You will help translate privacy strategy into actionable, repeatable processes, manage daily privacy tasks, and contribute to cross-functional privacy initiatives that drive compliance and build user trust.
In This Role, You Will
- Support the execution of World’s privacy compliance program, ensuring alignment with global and regional privacy laws and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, LGPD, CCPA).
- Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining essential privacy documentation, including policies, standards, procedures, and internal guidelines.
- Help maintain privacy inventories, Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), and other vital compliance artifacts.
- Assist with privacy risk assessments, privacy impact assessments (PIAs/DPIAs), and data protection threshold assessments.
- Help track regulatory developments and prepare concise summaries for the Privacy Program Lead and the Legal team.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Security, to ensure privacy requirements are integrated into business processes and new projects.
- Support operational processes for responding to data subject access requests (DSARs), deletion requests, and other privacy-related inquiries.
- Help coordinate privacy assessments of vendors and third parties, including information gathering and documentation.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of privacy training and awareness materials for internal teams to foster a strong privacy-aware culture.
- Collaborate closely with Legal, Product, Security, Compliance, and Business Operations to achieve consistent, practical privacy compliance outcomes.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Privacy, Data Protection, Information Security, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of professional experience in privacy, compliance, data protection, or related operational functions (e.g., in-house counsel, privacy program support, risk/compliance teams).
- Experience supporting privacy program execution in a dynamic environment is a significant advantage.
- Solid knowledge of major privacy laws and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, LGPD, CCPA/CPRA) and familiarity with global privacy issues.
- Experience assisting with privacy impact assessments (PIAs/DPIAs), vendor risk assessments, and data subject request responses is desirable.
- Capable of defining and executing an agenda efficiently and on time, demonstrating sound judgment, practicality, resourcefulness, proactivity, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- A proactive and collaborative team player with a positive attitude and sense of humor.
