Role Overview

The Lead Azure Data Engineer acts as a technology expert and architect in designing, developing and implementing data solutions using Microsoft Azure. The role is enterprise-level with responsibilities including solution development, delivery, technology best practices, and 24/7 support.

Primary Duties

  • Collaborate with customers and team members to determine requirements.
  • Design and implement business application systems.
  • Manage scheduling, cost, and controls in IT operations.
  • Coordinate enterprise-wide priorities and resolve issues.
  • Support disaster recovery initiatives and change management.
  • Provide 24-hour on-call support, including evenings and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years in data warehouse architecture and data delivery.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure data engineering products (Azure Synapse, Python Notebooks, SQL Server Development, DevOps).
  • Understanding of monitoring tools like Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
  • Experience with SAP AFS and related business processes is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Working Conditions

This is a full time, 100% remote role. Michigan based candidates are preferred and must be located in Eastern or Central Time Zones.

Salary

Salary ranges from $128,000 to $168,000 per annum.
