Role Overview

The Software Developer I at Wokelo is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs using Python and Django Rest Framework. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, integrating efficient database operations with Django ORM, and ensuring high code quality with embedded testing practices. Exposure to NLP engineering and ML model development is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python and Django Rest Framework
• Utilize Django ORM for building efficient, database-driven applications
• Collaborate with teams to implement feature enhancements for the Wokelo platform
• Contribute to NLP and ML model development initiatives (preferred)
• Adopt emerging technologies and innovate solutions to complex problems
• Support the transition of prototypes to production-ready features on our SaaS platform
• Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• 0-1 years of experience as a Software Developer
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proficiency in Python and strong experience with Django Rest Framework
• Hands-on experience with Django ORM
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Exposure to NLP, ML models, LLMs, RLHF, transformers, and embeddings is a plus
• Prior experience in building or scaling a SaaS platform is a plus
• Strong attention to detail with integrated testing practices
