Role: Senior Consultant - Product Costing

This role is designed for a domain expert in product costing. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate cost calculation, margin analysis, variance tracking, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams for strategic pricing, budgeting, and supply chain decisions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update product cost models including material, labor, overhead, and freight.
• Perform standard costing, actual costing, and variance analysis for product lines.
• Partner with supply chain, manufacturing, and procurement teams to validate cost inputs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and gross margin trends across regions and products.
• Support annual standard cost roll processes, BOM reviews, and cost revaluation exercises.
• Reconcile inventory valuations and adjust inventory cost in compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close activities related to inventory and product cost.
• Prepare product cost reports, dashboards, and cost simulations for new product introductions or pricing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/US GAAP, SOX controls, and internal policies.
• Continuously identify and implement improvements in cost accounting processes and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
• 6–10 years of experience in product costing or cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong understanding of costing methodologies including standard, actual, and activity-based costing.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and costing modules.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with multi-plant or multi-entity costing environments.
• Knowledge in new product development costing or cost modeling for commercial proposals.
• Familiarity with digital costing tools or RPA implementations in costing processes.
