Job Summary
The Project Manager plans and directs all onsite activities at client locations related to the storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes and other related services, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves managing onsite personnel, acting as a liaison between the client and vendors for service issues and contract management, and maintaining pre-established safety and environmental standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste from client sites, including profiling, scheduling, manifesting, and physically loading bulk and drum loads.
- Consult with clients to identify, design, and implement cost-saving opportunities and proposals.
- Ensure compliance with client and government regulations through necessary inspections and reporting, resolving all issues promptly.
- Administer client and vendor financial obligations, including invoicing, reporting, and contract management.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring site personnel are properly trained and adhere to safety, environmental, federal, state, and local regulations.
- May occasionally perform labor-intensive activities such as drum collection and bulking.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business, or a related field; or, in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
- 2 years of relevant work experience (in addition to the education requirement).
- HAZWOPER Certification.
- RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience.
- OSHA 24-Hour Certification.
- Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire customer-specific drug and/or alcohol testing may be required by certain customer-contract requirements.

Physical Requirements

Compensation & Benefits
The expected base pay range for this Project Manager position across the U.S. is $75,000 to $92,000 annually, with eligibility for a 10% bonus. WM offers a competitive total compensation package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, a Stock Purchase Plan, Company match on 401K, Paid Vacation, Holidays, and Personal Days. Benefits may vary by site.
