Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst - Capital Management is responsible for ensuring capital expenditures are accurately tracked, reported, and aligned with company priorities. The role provides clear visibility into capital project performance, maintains data integrity, and delivers timely, actionable reporting to support decision-making in alignment with both short-term forecasts and WM's 3-year strategic plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial and non-financial data.
- Facilitate discussions with senior management on operating results and budget goals.
- Contribute to project development, planning, and implementation.
- Develop and manage action plans for monitoring operating directives.
- Handle special and ad hoc information requests and report results.
- Facilitate effective communication between field finance, operations, and corporate teams.
- Participate in bid and project reviews including financial sensitivity analysis.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any supervisory duties.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or similar, or High School Diploma/GED with four years relevant experience; plus five additional years of experience.
Other Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the US and reside in the Houston area. No relocations will be provided.
