Position Overview

The Staff Software Engineer role at Wise is based in our new Hyderabad office and is part of our Asia & Pacific regional expansion. You will help create an entirely new network for the world’s money by developing products tailored to the Indian market.

Your Contributions

  • Develop products for Wise customers servicing the Indian market.
  • Design onboarding and money movement solutions leveraging India’s local KYC and payment ecosystem.
  • Develop robust systems for seamless customer onboarding in compliance with local regulations.
  • Lead large-scale projects in collaboration with global teams.
  • Build scalable money movement systems to enhance cross-border payments.
  • Automate tooling for processing customer payments and data efficiently.
  • Use observability and analytics to pinpoint growth opportunities and operational enhancements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to contribute to product and technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Java 17 and Spring framework.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and schema design.
  • Strong product mindset with data-driven decision making.
  • Proven experience mentoring junior engineers and leading complex solutions.
  • Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration and deployment frameworks.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

  • Experience with financial systems including payments and digital onboarding flows.
  • Technical leadership experience in maintaining team excellence and mentorship.
