Job Description

Company Description

Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. We offer min fees, max ease, and full speed for sending money, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments. Our mission is to make financial lives easier and save money for people and businesses globally.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money, for everyone, everywhere.

Wise Platform enables banks, software companies, and large enterprises to leverage Wise’s infrastructure, offering world-class payments products through their own channels. Our partners include major banks and online platforms like Monzo, Standard Chartered, and Google. Wise Platform operates as a start-up within a scale-up, with teams based across New York, London, Singapore, and beyond.

Job Description

The Senior Product Manager, API Experience will focus on empowering developers from our partners, such as Morgan Stanley, N26, and Ramp, who utilize Wise APIs to build exceptional cross-border payment experiences. Your role is to ensure a frictionless journey from onboarding to testing and production.

Your Mission

Make it effortless for developers to onboard, use, and test Wise APIs through exceptional tooling and infrastructure.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Developer Tools: Create intuitive self-service experiences for discovering, onboarding, and managing Wise Platform APIs. Develop robust simulation capabilities, enhanced testing tools, and streamlined access management for a seamless developer journey from exploration to launch.
  • Security & Authentication: Own Wise Platform’s partner security and authentication offering, ensuring easy and secure API connections. Design credential management, authentication strategies (OAuth, API keys, mTLS), and secure connection protocols, balancing security with developer experience. Build proactive tooling to help developers manage credentials and prevent security issues.
  • Webhooks Infrastructure: Build and improve webhook reliability, observability, and usability. Ensure partners can easily set up, test, and monitor webhooks with clear visibility into delivery performance. Implement robust retry mechanisms and developer-friendly tooling for straightforward and dependable webhook integration.

In This Role, You Will

  • Own the Roadmap: Define and execute the API Tooling roadmap, prioritizing initiatives to enhance API onboarding, usage, and testing. Focus on reducing time-to-integration and improving developer satisfaction.
  • Drive Execution: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality products on time. Make pragmatic trade-offs while maintaining a relentless focus on developer experience and outcomes.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with engineers, analysts, tech writers, sales, and product managers across Wise Platform to ensure seamless partner experiences from initial API call to production launch.
  • Be Customer-Obsessed: Gather direct feedback from partner developers to understand their pain points and needs. Use research and data to inform product decisions and solve critical problems for developers integrating with our APIs.
  • Measure and Iterate: Define success metrics for API tooling focused on ease of use and adoption. Track performance, analyze usage patterns, and use data to drive continuous improvement in developer satisfaction, onboarding speed, and integration success rates.
  • Deliver Impact: Focus on shipping products that achieve measurable outcomes, including faster time-to-first-API-call, comprehensive testing coverage, reduction in incidents, and smoother production launches.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 6+ years in product management, with significant exposure to developer products, APIs, or infrastructure tooling.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of API design, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, API keys, mTLS), webhooks, and sandbox environments. Comfortable discussing technical architecture with engineers and making informed trade-offs.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for developers and an understanding of what makes integration experiences frictionless. You know good developer tooling and can advocate for developer needs.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven: Ability to set measurable goals, interpret data, and use insights to prioritize initiatives. Comfortable with defining and tracking KPIs like time-to-integration, sandbox adoption rates, and developer satisfaction scores.
  • Execution-Focused: Proven track record of shipping products and delivering results. You thrive on turning strategy into reality and can navigate ambiguity to get things done.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable presenting to stakeholders and building alignment across teams.
  • Collaboration: Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, design, sales, and other product teams. You build strong relationships and create alignment around shared goals.
