Team Overview: Trust & Safety

The Trust & Safety team safeguards the platform against financial crime while protecting legitimate customers. By leveraging machine learning, real-time transaction monitoring and data analysis, the team builds controls to keep Wise accounts secure.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop a globally scalable real-time payment fraud prevention system.
  • Utilize machine learning techniques to identify potential risks.
  • Collaborate with fraud investigators and product teams for effective solutions.
  • Exceed regulatory requirements and set industry standards in financial crime prevention.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and best practices guidance.
  • Direct architectural design, code reviews, and roadmap creation.
  • Improve reliability and scalability of services.
  • Lead solutions development for real-time check engines and vendor integrations.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Mentor a diverse team of junior and senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with other Engineering Leads, Staff Engineers, and Product teams.
  • Navigate complex priorities and make trade-offs to mitigate risk.
  • Represent the team in stakeholder discussions across the company.

What You Need

  • Strong background in software engineering with expertise in scalable systems.
  • Experience delivering robust production services and guiding teams through technical challenges.

What Do We Offer
