Job Description

About The Company

OptiSigns is a Houston-based B2B SaaS company dedicated to transforming digital communication through innovative screen solutions. Serving over 22,000 businesses, OptiSigns empowers organizations to engage their customers and employees with intuitive, visually compelling digital displays. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our belief that great software should feel effortless, even to non-technical users. We prioritize thoughtful design alongside robust engineering, ensuring our solutions are both user-friendly and technically advanced. As a company, we foster a collaborative and innovative environment where creativity and technical expertise come together to deliver impactful digital signage experiences.

About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented UI Engineer to join our expanding product team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to own the entire front-end experience, from translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect code to building reusable component libraries. The ideal candidate is passionate about crafting delightful user interfaces, has a keen eye for typography and motion, and thrives in a fast-paced development environment. You will collaborate closely with product managers, backend engineers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features that enhance user engagement and usability. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working on visually driven projects and takes pride in attention to detail, accessibility, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of experience building customer-facing web applications, with a portfolio or live products to demonstrate skills
  • Proficiency in Figma, including auto-layout, variants, design tokens, and FigJam
  • Production experience with React or Angular, modern TypeScript, and component-based architecture
  • Deep understanding of HTML semantics, CSS layouts (Flexbox and Grid), responsive design principles, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2), and performance optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with design systems such as Material, Ant, Radix, or custom systems
  • Experience with animation libraries like Framer Motion or GSAP and testing frameworks such as Jest, Testing Library, or Cypress
  • Comfortable working within Agile, CI/CD environments, including GitLab CI/CD, Vercel, or AWS
  • Strong user-centric mindset with the ability to translate business goals into intuitive UI/UX flows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design engaging and accessible user interfaces in Figma, including information architecture, mock-ups, prototypes, component libraries, and responsive breakpoints
  • Implement designs using modern HTML, semantic CSS/SCSS (or Tailwind), TypeScript, and frameworks such as React (Next.js) or Angular
  • Maintain a clean, reusable component system to ensure scalability and consistency across the product
  • Conduct user testing and iterate based on usability feedback, analytics, and heatmaps to improve UI/UX
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product managers, backend engineers, and QA to deliver features from conception to deployment
  • Review pull requests, contribute to developer experience improvements, and assist in maintaining development tooling such as Storybook, ESLint, and Husky

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Flexible work schedule and remote-friendly culture, with the option to work from our Houston headquarters
  • Generous paid time off and holiday leave
  • 401(k) plan with company match (coming in 2025)
  • Monthly stipend for courses, conferences, books, and other learning opportunities
  • Latest MacBook Pro or preferred development setup
  • Opportunity to work on impactful projects used by thousands of businesses daily
