About The Strategist Copywriter Role

We are seeking a talented Strategist Copywriter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing clear, engaging, and strategically aligned copy across multiple channels and formats. You will collaborate closely with creative directors, strategists, designers, and project managers to craft verbal identity systems, brand messaging, and campaign concepts. Your work will involve translating complex ideas into simple, emotionally resonant language that aligns with our clients’ brand voice and business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in strategic writing, a keen understanding of cultural and market trends, and a passion for innovative storytelling. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence brand narratives within the health and wellness sectors, leveraging emerging tools such as AI to push creative boundaries.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a strategist or copywriter in an agency, startup, or similar environment.
  • Proven ability to write for modern consumer brands across multiple categories.
  • Exceptional editing skills and versatility in tone and style.
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, verbal identity systems, and messaging frameworks.
  • Experience in developing taglines, manifestos, tone of voice guidelines, and naming exercises.
  • Ability to translate insights into compelling strategic plans and narratives.
  • Proficiency in digital content creation, including websites, email campaigns, and packaging concepts.
  • Familiarity with cultural and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Interest in exploring AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance copy development.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills and provide constructive feedback.
  • Passion for health, wellness, and innovative branding practices.

Responsibilities

  • Create verbal identity systems, including taglines, manifestos, and descriptive language that define brand essence.
  • Partner with the Strategy team to translate insights into clear, compelling strategic plans aligned with brand vision and business goals.
  • Articulate the brand’s core narrative, value propositions, and positioning to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Develop tone of voice guidelines that specify how a brand communicates across different channels and contexts.
  • Lead brand and product naming initiatives that reflect strategic objectives and resonate with target audiences.
  • Craft engaging copy for websites, packaging concepts, email communications, and other key brand touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with strategists and designers to ensure creative ideas are insightful and meet client objectives.
  • Experiment with AI and emerging tools to expand creative possibilities and improve copy testing processes.
  • Conduct cultural and competitive research to inform language choices and relevance.
  • Contribute to client workshops and presentations, helping brands articulate their voice and story effectively.
  • Support the growth of the Verbal Identity practice within Herman‑Scheer by sharing expertise and innovative ideas.
  • Act as a thought leader within the agency, elevating the quality of writing and strategic thinking across projects.
