About the Role

The Staff Data Scientist will focus on advancing Pinterest’s Curation ecosystem through machine learning, statistics, and deep product insight. This role involves analyzing content promotion dynamics and developing models that influence product decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Pinterest’s Curation ecosystem including boards, trends, and user behaviors
  • Design and implement frameworks using online and offline methodologies
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques to drive product innovation
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, and Research teams
  • Generate hypotheses, run experiments, and mentor junior data scientists

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of large-scale data analysis experience
  • Expertise in machine learning, Python or R, SQL, and Spark
  • Proven ability to apply scientific methods to solve real-world problems
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
